Appointments

Surgeries are by appointment only. Appointments can be made up to 4-6 weeks in advance either at the surgery or by telephone, between 8.00 am and 6.00pm Monday to Friday. You can also book appointments at any time using the online service – please register with the receptionist at the surgery for this service.

You may see any doctor but please try to avoid seeing different doctors in the same episode of illness. Receptionists will NOT require medical details to make routine appointments.

If for any reason you have to cancel an appointment please let the reception staff know as soon as possible, then we will be able to let someone else use the appointment.

We have the facility to text patients to remind them of their appointment. This is currently on trial. We will obtain your consent before using this facility.

Urgent Appointments

Patients with urgent problems will be seen on the same day. Brief medical details may be requested by the reception staff to help determine urgency.

Home Visits

If you are too ill to come to the surgery and need a home visit, please make your request before 10.00 am (this helps us to organise our day).

Brief medical details may be requested by the reception staff. The duty doctor may also wish to speak to you.

Emergency requests can be made at any time.

Clinics

Ante-natal: By appointment on Tuesdays - 1.00 – 4.00 pm

Diabetic: By appointment on Wednesdays - 1.30 - 4.00 pm

Well Baby Clinic: (Health Visitor) Monday afternoon - 1.30 – 3.30pm

Immunisations: (Practice Nurse) by appointment on Mondays - 1.00 – 3.30pm

We try to stick to these times where possible, but there may be alterations during study leave, holidays, sickness or emergencies.

Our nursing team also run asthma, COPD & smoking cessation clinics and appointments are usually available every working day.

Telephone Advice/Telephone Consultations

Sometimes it may be appropriate for patients to have a telephone consultation with the most appropriate health professional, either a nurse or a doctor.

If you would like to speak to a doctor/nurse but do not feel that an appointment is necessary please telephone a doctor or nurse between 11.30am and 12 noon. If the doctor/nurse is unable to take your call reception staff will take your telephone number and ask the clinician to call you back.

The doctor/nurse may still want you to make an appointment after discussing your problem on the telephone.
